These questions or topics
about spirituality
seem to expect
there is something religious
about spiritual growth.
I think most religions
attempt to constrain or restrain
the growth of spirituality.
The spirit demands freedom
from the need to conform.
Perhaps that is the reason
spirituality is hard to define.
Conformity, creeds, and covenants
are the enemies of the spirit.
You never think of anyone
you call a free spirit
as conforming to the establishment.
No! I have never wanted
to seek spirituality there.
Rituals of worship
are more numbing
rather than awakening spirituality.
A real epiphany
never comes in a public
display of exhibitionism.
To understand immortality
we must recognize the reality
of what spirits are.
