Love Like A Rebel
Why am i always defiant
instead of merely compliant?
I don’t completely understand
why i take up the rebel’s stand.
Love is almost my middle name
and yet i play the rebel’s game.
Jesus came to fulfill the law
but was a rebel filled with awe.
Because we love everyone
we insist that freedom is won.
Just going along with the crowd
our consciences have not allowed.
Some things in the establishment
are the restraints which we resent.
