Love
We are determined to love each other
What better truth can we discover?
I don’t know where flowery language went
in acknowledging this honest intent.
Love is the foundation on which we build
and where the worship of idols is killed.
You can dress your flowery covenant
in meaningless language; but i can’t.
Fancy language and crystal palaces
are mere symbols like crosses and chalices
but love is the result of good intent
and i believe this is what Jesus meant.
Among Buddhists, Muslims, Christians and Jews
love is the basis and the truth we choose.
