Taking Time to Rhyme

Explosive force of poetry

has its source in rhyme for me.

The sound of rhymes is essential

for words to reach their potential.

A sound’s constant repetition

can be a rhyming definition.

It gives the poem energy

it needs to be poetry.

A poem doesn’t have to be

a repeated memory.

It may not mean anything

about what is happening.

A poem which happens to rhyme

may take a little more time.
