Estimating the Flow

I suspect that none of us knows

how long the river of life flows.

We can make an estimate

how long we will have to wait.

There are things we can do

to make such estimates be true.

One question we can answer;

smoking might give us lung cancer.

I should live longer, i guess,

if i avoid carelessness.

I think that our attitude

can prolong the interlude.

If our optimism is strong,

the river keeps rolling along.
