What It Doesn’t Mean

An art of simplicity

is the trade mark of poetry.

When it is complicated,

its depth may be overrated.

It may not mean anything

but an inclination to sing.

It sounds good most of the time

since it has both rhythm and rime.

The story it wants to tell

includes both a heaven and hell.

You know it is poetry

because of its simplicity.

If it seems to be obscure,

the poet may be immature.
