Rumors are Often True

As a picture in the sky

rainbows never hope to die.

A rainbow lives forever,

depending on the weather.

Does the devil beat his wife

when the sun shines on the rain?

Rainbows have a shortened life

and then they are born again.

They say there’s a pot of gold

where dying rainbows are sold.

That may be a fairy tale

for rainbows are not for sale.

They may be wet or be dry;

colored pictures in the sky.
