Dolly at the Races

No bridle and bit any more.

Dolly preferred the hackamore.

I did away with bits and spurs

and we were both winners.

I let the reins hang free

while guiding her with my knee.

She didn’t want to go slow.

She galloped when i let her go.

Both of us were having fun

when i relaxed and let her run.

We rode in the river bed.

She knew the race track was ahead.

She liked to see the horses race.

It was her favorite place.
