One Field or Another

The gods were on the other side

so our victory was denied.

Our blood was spilled in battle dust

because of gods we couldn’t trust.

But, we’ll fight another day

and forget our loss anyway.

Of all the warriors who died,

most were on the other side.

Lose one battle but win the war.

No one knows what we’e fighting for.

Consider it a victory

when we can love our enemy.

We will lay down sword & shield

and search in the Akashic Field.
