Eternity is Forever

Did anyone welcome me

returning to eternity?

Gone almost a hundred years

when eternity reappears.

Did someone say, “Welcome home”?

Or give me a ticket to roam?

Just think what lies ahead

after my body is dead.

Have i arrived too early

at the gates we call pearly?

I suppose i might as well

if the sign on the gate says “Hell.”

If so, i may have to wait.

I’d rather be early than late.
