Cosmic Consciousness

Cosmic consciousness is the idea that

the universe exists as an interconnected

network of consciousness, with each

conscious being linked to every other.

Sometimes this is conceived as forming

a collective consciousness which spans

the universe . Other times it is conceived

as an absolute or Godhead from which

all conscious beings emanate.

I believe these ideas are not

incompatible, but that there is one Great

spirit of which all individuals are a part.

Humans are aware of themselves as long

as they are alive. This self-consciousness

is so much a faith in their own conception

as an individual that it blocks their view

of themselves as merely a small part of

of a Greater Spirit. When their body dies;

this faith dies with it. What is left is spirit.

This spirit views itself as going home. It

re-merges with the Great Spirit. It can now

have a cosmic consciousness. It is no longer

blocked from viewing the cosmos and

themselves in a more realistic light.

Humility of ourselves is a part of

what we have called love of the Great Spirit.

People who awake from an out-of body

experience often speak of enlightenment.

They were blind but now they can see. If this

enlightenment is nonsense, i love it.
