A Time to Remember

In the midst of depression

why is a war a lesson?

Wars we cannot afford

are too easily ignored.

The next time the bugles blow

we should all refuse to go.

I’m pretty sure they will,

but who’s going to pay the bill?

“War is hell” it has been said

Millions of people are dead

and all the survivors will

be the ones who pay the bill.

If it’s too costly, perhaps

our economy will collapse.
