It’s Not Time to Go

This is my ninety -first year.

My final decade is here.

I have lived longer than most.

That is no reason to boast.

It’s how, not how long, you live

that our neighbors can forgive.

I wonder if longevity

is a gift given to me.

It is nothing i have learned

and most likely haven’t earned.

I’m just lucky to be

alive for eternity.

Time hasn’t waited for me

for time is eternity.
