Is it Good to be Good?

Is there a god living within me

through endless years of eternity?

I have to say, “I believe there is.”

and i still enjoy living like this.

Some of my most pleasant memories

were the years when i lived with Louise.

But now, i am beginning to see

there is a god living within me.

I am only a very small part

of this all-encompassing heart.

I have lost most bodily desires

and smothered my most passionate fires.

But some love which Louise and i had

may have been naughty but wasn’t bad.
