A Voice from Beyond
“When death comes we may only feel
our mortal life was never real.
We awake as if from a dream
into spiritual self-esteem.
We feel that we are home again;
escaped from all that is profane.
That is when we first realize
our self-consciousness never dies.
As part of cosmic consciousness
we are engulfed in happiness.”
That is what my Uncle George said
as a ghost standing by my bed.
If i approach that end with grace,
death may seem like a friendly place.
