To Reach the Moon

We wanted a bridge to reach the moon.

But, it was a bridge too far, too soon.

People on Mars might beat us to it

if they really wanted to do it.

We would be better off to know

a bridge is not the best way to go.

The way to travel is in the mind.

It shouldn’t be too hard to find.

After all, we are the human race

and the moon is only a place.

We should know that our only hope

is with a bigger telescope.

We are the makers of such things.

No one is smarter than us Earthlings.
