Self-Centered Cat

Whimpering sound of a kitten

carries the thought “Life aint fitten.”

At a young age discovering

that pain is always hovering.

Always afraid it will pounce

in very frightening amounts,

Her whimper will become a purr

as long as we are rubbing her,

But, does she have such sympathy

when the pain is engaging me?

I have a strong feeling she’s not

aware of any pains i’ve got.

Cats appreciate a rubber

but they only love each other.
