Taking Sides

Are nonsense and philosophy

internecine within me?

My elf is my funny bone

while sanity is unknown.

When i come to my senses

reality commences.

Is the cosmic consciousness

the source of my happiness?

I have this wry little imp

who causes logic to limp.

The one of these which i choose

means the other one must lose.

I may tend to choose the elf

for he is more like myself.
