Smile When You Say That

Does the inner soul diminish

after the body writes finish?

Do all of us think we’ll find out

when bodily death comes about?

Why does everyone assume

our spiritual lives will resume,

or at that time we will know

the things we don’t know now also?

I suggest you not hold your breath

expecting new knowledge at death.

I suspect we will never know

whether souls are likely to grow.

I hope we will all find laughter

if there is any hereafter.
