Cosmo–Meet Uncle George
When i knew the Civil War veteran, my
great uncle George, he felt ostracized.
He was a ghost in my attic who came to
talk in the darkest hours.
We both felt ostracized–not rejected
by the society in which we were thrust.
Although i was still alive and he was a ghost
we developed a camaraderie.We had a
similar concept of God, the cosmic
consciousness which we loved instead of
worshipped.
The establishment then, much as
today, had a value system we could not
accept. As an eleven-year-old boy i was
a rebel. Uncle George was not really a
rebel. He felt that he was not accepted
by the people around him. He appreciated
my camaraderie.
My great grandson-to-be is on the
verge of birth. I think it would be
appropriate to name him Cosmo. This
would celebrate the cosmos evolving into
a community more founded on love,
influenced by cosmic consciousness.
