The Computer Looks at Me

What does the computer screen see

when the computer looks at me?

It sees what it can’t understand

as if my thoughts are not well planned.

I sit down to write a poem

in words, but how do i know’em?

The computer tells me, “I know,

but i don’t understand them, though.

Some of my readers are like that.

I am curious as a cat.

What any computer abhors

the good reader merely ignores.

To get down to the heart of things

you must follow its happenings.

Since nothing has happened B4

perhaps it may not any more.

Down deep in the soul of a muse

there are topics which i could choose.

but i prefer to think my own

whose origin is still unknown.

Obscurity has adherents

but nonsense is still its parents.

Can this nonsense ever be taught

or is it something which we bought?

They said “You’ll like it. Try it.”

but i simpplyt couldn’t buy it.

They said “Forget about syntax”

but i find it hard to relax.

Anyone can write a jingle

where the rhyme and meter mingle,

but a more original mind

is much more difficult to find.

I find i get more compliments

whenever i write pure nonsense.

My readers aren’t philosophers

and don’t understand metaphors.

The readers and i get along

but they sometimes think i am wrong.

My computer just sits and stares.

I cannot think it really cares.
