The Fruits of Revenge

The whole world arose in revolt

and spread terror like a thunderbolt.

That was the day the twin towers fell

and turned the earth into living hell.

The devil’s disciples, also dead,

predicted the hell that lay ahead.

They thought the world was an evil place,

an evil they wanted to erase.

Because of them three thousand have died.

And a revengeful world has replied,

killing a hundred thousand or more.

All of these facts are hard to ignore.

Of hatred or revenge, which is worse?

Only love eliminates this curse.
