Rhyming as Device
Sometimes in poems like this
coherence is what you miss.
Inconsistence may be
absolute necessity.
You are stopped and turned around
by an inconsistent sound.
The words are nothing but noise
without meaning or poise.
Rhyming sounds may seem to be
some kind of consistency
but often they really are
like beans in a Mason jar.
A sign that they are home made
but tasteless, I am afraid.
