The Middle Ages
The cut throat competition
between need and ambition
can make us fear each other.
In old age we discover
we don’t have to be afraid
of a poisoned lemonade.
We take what others give us;
know we can’t take it with us.
People need understanding
of what life is demanding.
Middle ages were endured
and we finally matured.
Now grandma and her grandchild
both live where their life has smiled.
