First Person Familiarity

I caress my own thoughts

as if i loved them more

than the inspirations

of deeper minds than mine.

But familiarity

erupts from other minds

to make me love them too

as if from the same source.

Though, i have to admit

i’m prejudiced a bit

when, as i rub their fur

i feel a friendly purr.

So, i am apt to say,

“I thought of this today.”
