Do Souls Have a Heart?

I had learned to tolerate pain,

and now i must do it again.

I have a new pain in my thighs

which is cutting me down to size.

I tell you what i’m gonna do;

learn to tolerate this one too.

I’d rather cure than tolerate,

but this i can’t anticipate.

Perhaps death is the only cure

for what the body must endure.

I don’t seek death, but don’t fear it

if i can keep soul and spirit.

I just hope that pain doesn’t start

becoming a pain in my heart.
