More Steps to Eternity

If we live, after we die;

death poses the question, why?

Why have a body at all

which we can never recall?

Perhaps it is a proving ground

where living purposes are found.

There must be a purpose for me

before i reach eternity.

I think i was put here to say,

“Brotherly love is the best way,

and the reason we are here.”

Listen, death’s footsteps draw near.

Now i have said it, can i stop?

No! Eternity waits on top.
