In the Long Run

As we age we mature

but wisdom isn’t sure.

Intellect may decline,

be diminished like mine.

As energies depart

we may run out of smart.

Such things we have to face.

Try to do so with grace.

Just because we get old

doesn’t mean craps are rolled.

It may take more than luck.

We must learn how to duck.

Keep our spirits alive.

Our bodies can’t survive.
