The Bewilderment of God

Has God ever been in doubt?

What did It wonder about?

Perhaps It has wondered why

everything has to die.

It thought “In eternity,

why can’t humans be like me?

Is their life only a play

where the stage is snatched away?”

Since It was God It could change

anything It thought was strange.

In order to have more friends,

cancelled beginnings or ends.

So now, when a body dies,

It says, “Welcome Home–Surprise!”
