Premonitions

Does a diminishing memory

presage the death of the body,

or predict the imminent

re-infusion with the cosmic

Great Spirit which we call God?

As our spirit awakes to

an epiphany of enlightenment,

our body fades away or

succumbs to disabilities.

A cosmic consciousness

makes us realize

that the spirit never dies

but love binds us together

and we see eternity

as the body never could.

You won’t forget what God is

but remember who you are;

a part of eternity who

discovers God is part of you.

So, senior moments may be

a forecast of maturity.

This little homily has been

an attempt to assure you when

you think you have lost your mind

or the glasses you can’t find.

When such a moment appears,

put your hands above your ears.

The glasses which you feel there

are not just another pair.

They’re what you’re looking for,

No need to look any more.

So look for God when you die.

It will be somewhere nearby.
