No Abandoned Ideals

Ideals don’t die like we had thought;

That’s where aphorisms are sought.

If quick enough to write them down

they are like a halo or a crown.

Ideas which seem to never die

can live longer than you or i.

Our spirits can do so as well

and may outlive heaven or hell.

Just what does intangible mean?

Where matter does not intervene.

Where our imagination reigns

nothing material remains.

If God does not abandon me,

i will live in eternity.
