We Only Spit a Little Bit

Howl was the seminal event

in the beat poetry movement

which displaced rhyme and rhythm.

We can finally forgive them.

It seems they were simply mad

at the establishment we had.

Filthy epitaphs which they used

literate poets have refused.

Poetry on a higher plane

is likely to come back again.

We hope future poets will be

nonsensical, and more like me.

Expressing love instead of hate;

sing rather than expectorate.
