Pantisocracy
I ran across an article in Wikipedia
(I have printed an excerpt on the
other side of this sheet) which may
well describe some first impressions
about democracy.
I have recently begun to think of
God as the Great Spirit because this
seems to better describe intangible
notions of a spirit which pervades
the cosmos. Most dictionaries seem
to give God a resemblance to a
super man who is a person who has
incredible power but also possesses
human characteristics. My concept
of God has always been on a much
higher plane than this.
I have always accepted the usual
reported philosophy of Jesus as the
true meaning of brotherly love. As i
have become more spiritual than
religious, i have become outspoken
in my poems about this distinction.
For this reason i have even been
thought of as an atheist by some
people. My reverence for God is more
like love than worship. The rituals
and creeds of many churches has
seemed to lower the worship to a
resemblance of sycophants.
I believe there were isolated pre-
colombian tribes in America who
practiced a form of pantisocracy and
they thought of the Great Spirit as a
symbol for the existence of a cosmic
consciousness toward which all of us
aspire. This consciousness includes
all of us as parts of a larger reality. In
this way no one owned the land.
It was a part of nature. The natural
laws were eternal concepts which
our Great Spirit evolved and each
individual was a small part of this
larger spirit.
The Utopian society which the
poets Samuel Coleridge and Southy
envisioned never got started. The
idea of no personal possessions was
unacceptable to most people who
lived in their time in England. They
could not agree on a location and
Taylor fell in love with a woman
and they had a happy family life.
Current societies, who have long
accepted selfishness as a virtue, have
become so ingrained that the idea
of real brotherly love appears weird
to the majority. However, there are
weirdoes like me, who believe it is
inevitable. I think the idea of this
brotherly love is growing.
The idea of eternity
has very great appeal to me.
Jesus said “The kingdom is now”
and proceeded to tell us how.
I see people getting better
and i love them all forever.
I wrote all of this with the
figure One key stuck.
