expression of desires.

What you wanted to do

was part of what was you.

Our memory may be

less than reality

but also could be more

like what we had wished for.

What any of us does

is forget how it was.

Memories are haunted

by the things we wanted.

Imagination, then,

probably ain’t a sin.
