The Mind Is Eternal

Have you ever wondered why

your later years seem to fly

like lightning bugs in the night

merely blinking in their flight?

Your body will let you know

it is time for it to go.

If you are ready, or not,

it will likely hurt a lot.

Bodies are temporary,

perhaps unnecessary.

Our bodies all seem so real

we think death is a big deal.

If we lose self-consciousness,

we may die of loneliness.
