Competence & Skill

If chance favors the ready mind

practice can enable the blind.

No matter how much you learn,

competence is something you earn.

Capable of recognition

we will still need repetition

until it becomes a habit.

Without practice you can’t have it.

Remember what you once could do?

Practice might return that to you.

On the other hand, old age may

take skill and competence away.

So if you are old, forget it.
If memory fades, just let it.
