Some Thoughts on Love,
Philosophy & Religion
Is it ever to plagiarize a published thought
by making it your own? To appropriate
appropriately is to so alter a thought as to
make it impossible for the original author
to reciprocate.
Jesus said, “The kingdom is now.” If
we add “for those who believe in eternity”
he is stopped from expansion because we
have corrupted his meaning.
His statement can stand alone, but
our contingent “for” makes our new
statement our own responsibility.
We cannot initiate a new philosophy
through plagiarism. Ideas and ideals are
intangible but they can be possessed.
With possession we can amplify.
Through appropriation, we can both
possess and amplify ideals. However, the
original ideas can remain inviolate and
competent to expand into a different
religion or philosophy.
Thus Jesus and Mohammed were able
to establish philosophies based on the
ideal of brotherly love. Their disciples
turned them into a religion which worships
the prophets instead of their philosophies.
The result has been continuing wars as
each religion claims their gods as the only
gods. They build crystal palaces in the
wastelands of our nations to glorify their
own gods and thus mock the messages
they were trying to bring us.
They said that both life and love are
eternal but the modern fundamentalist
disciples refuse to accept eternity and
worship the body instead of the spirit. I
would rather love god’s messengers than
to worship them. This makes me a
certified crackpot.
