Curious? Well, maybe so

but very descriptive though.

We started out with a grunt.

Making words was quite a stunt.

From the poets and jesters

we learned how to make gestures.

Since bodies were now involved,

communication was solved.

From there to pretty phrases

took a good many ages.

Occasionally a dunce

returns to just making grunts.

New poets make sounds, not sense

and Omar Khayyam made tents.
