obeisance to gods

what i have learned

pales in comparison

to what i hope to learn

an optimistic future
and a complacent now
obscures a fading past

thus, our eternity
is available only
to those who have let go

dreams we liberate
are possibilities
for an open mind

to let go implies
we also let gods
become our guiding stars

gods are spiritual
imaginations
who are unrestricted

drinking the wisdom
of past and present gods
we become enlightened

if i have stolen forms
of previous poets;
present bards beware

your images may leak
into my stream of thought
or i think that they ought.
