No More Tennis
Here in a retirement home
being unable to roam
i adjust every day
since i have to live this way.
Disabilities increase
so i must renew my lease.
Being less able to read
means more adjusting indeed.
Here i have found many friends
now depending on Depends®
That hasn’t happened to me,
and i retain memory.
My computer is my pal
instead of a pretty gal.
Plenty of those are around
if i were assisted bound.
I can hear music, and write.
I sleep very well all night.
Some exercises i can do
but i have pains–quite a few.
Old age isn’t really bad
after the good life i’ve had.
I would do it all again.
I laugh more than i complain.
