death is a release from flesh
from the pain and requirements
of a suffering body

but the spirit doesn’t die
it is kept alive by hope
and faith in eternity

is a life unbalanced then
and the spirits only ghosts
wandering and all alone

if they are not recognized
and not even acknowledged
their existence is in doubt

i wonder what it would mean
if there was no halloween
when these ghosts are often seen

do spirits have memories
and do these lonely ghosts sneeze
without pain how can they hurt

we can hurt someone’s spirit
by saying they are not real
if we don’t know how they feel
