The senile tremor

of an aging Earth

may suggest decline;

the Earth’s, but not mine.

When thousands must die

but still, it’s not i,

does someone decide

that i will abide?

I have asked god why

i don’t seem to die.

I am always spared

as if someone cared.

He said, “Yes, i do.

So what else is new?”
