Love Conquers All

Christianity,

a philosophy of love,

is misunderstood

as rituals and creeds.

Like Buddhism,

it is misconstrued

by millions of disciples

as a religion.

Religion satisfies

a need to worship

something higher

than ourselves.

These disciples

have thus degraded

both humanity

and our ideals.

Aspirations

on a higher plane

are answered by love

as good intention.

Jesus and Buddha

if teaching today,

would likely mourn

this degradation.

However, religion

may open a door

to an understanding

of spirituality.

We should be thankful

we can practice both

religion and love

as compatible.
