i-Phone–Maybe Not
All alone in a city of dreams;
that is how morbid loneliness seems.
“I find it hard to imagine that”
said the dog to the sleeping cat.
For none of us is really alone
as long as we have a cell phone.
I wonder how they’ll stay alive
these people talking as they drive.
Then there are those people who call
while they are shopping in a mall.
Chatter, chatter, why can’t they stop
adding to noises while they shop.
It may have always been this way
but it seems to be worse today.

Capitalism or Democracy
since love always
means good intent,
what is the role
of government?
it sometimes acts
like big brother
spying on each other
being good to us all.
so beware of love’s tricks
a very dangerous mix.
that’s why socialism fell
to a bureaucratic hell.
so praise the system we have got?
no thanks; i think i’d rather not.

there is a growing good intent
until love becomes evident
