I Object

When we think of the suicide,

think also of guilty who died,

the innocent who didn’t care

who were killed because they were there.

Was the death of the twin towers

a result of action of ours,

or the revenge for inaction,

or of our smug satisfaction?

Have thousands of innocent died

in wars which were unjustified

because our politicians lied

to cover a false sense of pride?

Wars of revenge are always wrong.

We should refuse to go along.
