In Love with Christmas

If material wealth

is seen as god’s favor,

how does that fit

with love thy neighbor?

Accumulating things

may be a sign of greed

unloving happenings

while neighbors are in need.

At Christmas we should pause

and turn our thoughts to love,

forgetting Santa Klaus

or shopping push and shove.

Give gifts on another day,

only love on Christmas day.
