On Writing Well
Writing well is it’s own reward
and reading may well be that too.
The writer may have no regard
for readers he is writing to.
But, whether he knows it or not
the writer ought to be aware
that readers cannot be forgot,
being careful to take more care.
In a diary or a journal
sources may be more internal
but the final readers may be
in a hopeful posterity.
Perhaps it will never be read;
a future most likely ahead.
