Justice Without Compassion
Is careless love more fair
than cold justice everywhere?
Humans have a strange theory
of which we lovers are leery.
Rewards and punishments may seem
a nightmare instead of a dream.
That’s why our utopias fail
and democracies seem so frail.
Founded on democratic law
our utopias have a flaw:
They leave out the power of love
which humans should be conscious of.
When we can love our enemy,
indifference may keep us free.
