Old Age Still Ain’t for Sissies

It may be that i am alive

because i knew i shouldn’t drive.

I moved to a retirement home;

without a car i couldn’t roam.

Also, in addition to that

i might have run over a cat.

People were beginning to frown

because i tended to slow down.

Some people older than me

keep on driving eternally,

even when it is evident

they’re headed for an accident.

Do they wonder who they might kill

after losing their driving skill?
