The Music of Dark Stars
Poems are like minds in action;
a howl of dissatisfaction,
or an expression of delight
that we have lived throughout the night.
They result from an attitude
of despondence or gratitude.
Happy ones usually rhyme
instead of a howl all the time.
The philosophical ones are
trying to cross one bridge too far.
Many have a musical sound
lurking somewhere in the background.
Trying to rhyme music and lurk
is a little too much like work.
